Handwoven and spun Khadi Cotton Jacket

Zipped jacket in handloom khadi cotton, woven in a blue and white stripe with a reference to the pattern of Ikkat. The fabric has a naturally textured surface from the hand spun yarn, giving the stripes a slightly uneven, organic character.

Lightly padded and lined with cotton, it holds its shape while remaining breathable and easy to wear. Cut with a oversized fit and dropped shoulders, creating a relaxed silhouette.

Finished with a front zip closure, pointed collar, and AṂSA’s signature metal button.

Khadi cotton is one of India’s oldest handwoven textiles, made by hand spinning cotton yarn and weaving it on handlooms. Historically rooted in rural craft traditions, it became a symbol of self-reliance during India’s freedom movement, when it was promoted as an alternative to industrially produced cloth.

This fabric has been sourced from a handloom centre in Bhujodi, a historic weaving village in Kutch, Gujarat, known for generations of master weavers. Every stage of the fabric’s production is done by hand—from spinning the yarn to weaving the cloth and dyeing it using natural dyes—resulting in a textile that is breathable, textured, and slightly irregular.

The weaving community in this region also works with indigenous fibres such as Kala cotton, a rain-fed cotton native to Kutch and well suited to its climate. The karigars are highly skilled in developing durable, breathable cotton fabrics adapted to their environment.

100% handspun and handloom khadi cotton, naturally dyed, with a silk lining. As a handspun, handwoven, and naturally dyed textile, slight variations in weave, texture, and colour are inherent to the process and give each piece its individual character.

The handspun yarn gives the cloth its distinctive texture and requires gentle handling. Take care around jewellery and other surfaces that may catch or pull the weave. Store carefully.
